Virginia Woolf’s essay A Room of One’s Own still resonates with writers around the world 90 years after first publication in 1929. Finding my own room to write meant turning my back porch into an “outdoor writing studio” and the corner of my living room into a “writer’s nook.” My “reading corner” and thinking chair” also helped me create my very own writing world. I always love to see the writing rooms, spaces, studios, nooks, corners and spots that other writers have created for themselves

Grateful today on National Siblings Day to have two wonderful sisters, and so happy to watch my kids together, enjoying their fun and fabulous siblings. Nice to know they each have four built-in BFFs!
I grew up in Orlando and absolutely LOVED going to the Orlando Public library downtown with my mother and sisters back when I was an obsessed Nancy Drew reader. I continued the tradition when my children were born, taking my toddling pre-readers to peruse the rows of picture books with shining, curious eyes. In fact, the library is still a favorite place to go for a little me time if I have some free time.
Since this week is National Library Week, and celebrates the "valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities" I wanted to make sure to express my appreciation for the wonderful library in my community! Thank you @oclslibrary ! My day was brightened by Lesley Budge's review of The River Girls on The Bookwormery blog!
